Ventrilo Server Rules and Guidelines

EDIT: Currently, the following information is out of date because at the current time all guest access to our ventrilo server is unavailable while we decide what to do regarding our voice services.

The following is a set of rules and guidelines for use with our ventrilo server for ALL registered users of our server. Please keep in mind that the use of our ventrilo server is free, monitored, and above all else is a PRIVILEGE that we reserve for our members and the registered members of our forums. If the following rules and guidelines are not followed, your access to our ventrilo server may be suspended or revoked.

1. Use of the ventrilo voice server is restricted to registered members of our forums. Under no circumstances are you to share your username and password with anyone. You are responsible for the use of these login credentials and if you give your account access information to someone and they violate these rules, your ventrilo account will be locked out, suspended, or revoked depending on the rules that are violated on your behalf.
2. Use of ventrilo "paging" system and/or complaint system should be used only to contact a server admin for game server outage support, reporting a server rule violation in progress on one of our game servers, or reporting ventrilo server violation(s) in progress in any of our public channels. Please do not send a page to an admin more than once every 60 seconds or it will be considered "spam" and will be ignored.
3. There is a seperate channel for each of the public game servers we offer and the "Main Lobby" should be reserved for general chat for users that are not playing on a particular server. Do not complain to admin about any user that is talking in the Lobby while you are trying to play on a game server. Instead, open your ventrilo client window and simply switch to the channel set aside for the game server in which you are playing.
4. While inside one of the game server specific channels, be mindful of other ventrilo users in that channel that are playing in the game server. Try to avoid talking too much in ventrilo while you are dead and waiting for the next round to start. Instead, use the standard voice communication on the game server itself to talk with other dead players on either team. The ability to talk to ANY dead player while dead, regardless of team, is currently only available on our public condition zero servers. Dead players in our source servers can only speak with dead players from their own team, but this may change in the future.
5. Do not use the Lobby or any ventrilo channel to "ghost" talk with living players on your team in order to give away the position of an enemy as seen by one of the spectator modes. Failure to follow this rule is grounds for immediate revocation of your ventrilo privileges by the server owner or administrator. This does NOT include what you are able to see on the 1 or 2 second "death" view that you have immediately after you are killed in the game. This also does not include "coaching" your living teammates on their own actions as long as it is done in a constructive way and is not bothering any other living players on your team. If you are asked to stop, don't argue, just do so.
6. Show respect to all other users sharing a ventrilo channel with you. Do not insult, belittle, or intentionally annoy or aggrivate another user.
7. NEVER question or argue with any instruction, direction, or request made by a server admin/leader/co-leader ranked user on the ventrilo server.
8. Use of wav and TTS binds are restricted from use by anyone using our ventrilo, except those directly granted their use by the server administrator, leader, or co-leader. Currently, use of the "comment" system and paging/complaint systems are available for use, but can and will be revoked or suspended by an admin if abused.
9. NEVER advertise any of the following through the use of voice, chat, page, private chat, name phonetic, or comment system: any commercial or non-commercial website, address, phone number, service, or offer. | any clan or gaming community website address | any other game server:port address other than the specific servers publicly hosted by NorcalBots, =NcB=, or it's affiliated clans or organizations | Religious, Political, or racial propaganda of any kind
10. If you choose to use the "name" phonetic field in your user information (in order for people having TTS alerts enabled to be able to "hear" your name as you enter, exit, or comment), Please keep the phonetic text to a minimum, free of vulgarity, racism, or anything considered rude or insulting in nature. Please also do your best to keep the phonetic pronunciation very clear and understandable (use the "play" button next to the phonetic field to hear it played back to you in order to check it before actually using it as your set phonetic). Additionally, as this system is used so people are able to find out who joined the server/channel while not able to have their ventrilo window in front of them, please try and stick to one phonetic name and use it at all times rather than constantly changing it.
11. All of the game server rules in regards to chat and other general interaction between users also apply to the use of the ventrilo voice server and will be monitored by administrators both on and off channel and server, just like the game servers rules are upheld. By connecting to the ventrilo communications server, you are indicating that you have in fact read and agree to abide by the rules and guidelines listed above, regardless of whether or not you have actually read them. There will be no reversal of any punitive action enacted by the server admins/owner/leader/etc on the grounds that the violation was a result of not "knowing the rules".
