OUR PAST:
Our clan started with a single Condition Zero server run off of a home connection for use exclusively by close friends and family. Unlike most gaming clans that are founded because of a need to be the champions of one league or another, our clan's sole existence was centered around providing a fun, family friendly gaming environment for all those wishing to play. Eventually the clan opened it's doors to be a public clan whose membership was strictly by invitation only. The clan's name, NorcalBots was a temporary name, but as the clan grew in numbers and popularity, the name stuck. The clan added a couple more servers and opened up the recruitment policy to allow people to actively apply to become a member.
OUR PRESENT:
Today we have more than 10 dedicated servers split between two of the most popular online multiplayer FPS games in the industry, Condition Zero and CounterStrike:Source. Our membership numbers have increased well beyond fifty dedicated gamers of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels. This group of people even includes a multi-national representation of gamers from Canada, The United Kingdom, and Belgium. In order to keep our membership numbers at a comfortable level and make sure our clan's core values are not comprimised, our membership recruitment policy was reverted back to our original, exclusive invitation only policy. Our clan still rests on it's main purpose, to provide a fun, family friendly gaming environment although we are currently no strangers to competition.
In 2008, in response to the many requests of some of our members, our clan became actively involved in league competition with the creation of the team =NcB= Dead Jesters and registration in The OGL 5v5 Rung Based Open Competition for Condition Zero. After nearly a year of preparation, organization, and training, the Jesters team has become a group comprised of more than thirteen players, each with a different set of lethal skills. Today, our clan operates three complete teams, each of them actively involved in various ladder competitions within The OGL system.
OUR FUTURE:
NorcalBots Gaming has been around for more than four years, holding true to it's principles and core values. The future is not likely to ever change this about our clan. The future of the NorcalBots clan almost certainly may see the addition of more games, more servers, and a larger dedicated staff and membership. Our clan has never charged any of it's members or it's regular players to play on it's servers in the form of dues, fees, or otherwise. We do rely on donations and the proceeds from the sale of any of our clan related merchandise in order to help offset some of our server and operational expenses. In absence of any donation monies, the clan leader is solely responsible for the ever growing costs for the game servers, the web site, and any other operational costs. This monetary obligation is not a profitable one, but rather done simply for the love of the game and the clan.
